Dems howled as President Trump announced the China travel ban at the end of January. Then in March though the howling had not yet abated on the part of all  Dems, the reality of the situation began to cause many of them to come around. Meanwhile, it was Dr Fauci, who BTW initially said that wearing masks was a waste of effort, who then did a 180 going against the findings and advice of other prominent world renowned epidemiologists, who insisted that the 15 days be extended indefinitely. And masks were a requirement. Then the Dems, all instantaneous authorities on pandemics in their own right, began talking about "following the science." Which science again, was a one man show who contradicted nearly every other prominent epidemiologist on planet earth.

Governors extended and intensified '15 days to slow the spread' into full blown state lockdowns. Some of which are still ongoing nearly a full year later. The states are responsible for the stay at home misery index. The former President called for the reopening of schools, commerce, transportation and industry the whole time it was all going down. Jobs were lost because of state lockdowns, not Presidential edict.

Authoritarian puppet presidents like Hillary Clinton would have been and China Joe is, results in more federal control. Instead of idiot Democrat governors like Cuomo, Newsome, and Whitmer forcibly closing small and large businesses, as well as public schools, those policies would have been imposed by the federal government.
