I’m rapidly becoming of the older variety, Old School Hound, and your post pretty much summed up my feelings exactly.  Used to, I would plan my whole schedule around whatever time the game was. Now I can find other things that catch my interest. Perfect example, last Sunday I watched the first half of game against Richmond, then said to my wife let’s get outside and do something, this is boring. And we were ahead at the time!
  I know, I know, times change and we have to adjust.  But you were so right on how much more invested you were when guys were here for four years, and you had one or two in-state guys to really root for. The fans that are younger and really only know the one and done concept don’t know what they missed.

So glad I'm not alone in the way I feel.  I appreciate you letting me know it's not just me being an old fart.  I don't mean to come across as a grouchy old guy who waxes sentimentally for the old days(though, I guess the latter part of that statement is true). I think the one and done era has just taken away some of the passion and excitement that I had when I was younger. I wish I could get that back. Then again , I wish I get being 20 yrs old back also.  lol

As a mid 20s guy myself. I’ve seen Kentucky suck under BIlly Clyde and be something not to care much about. But then when Cal came in in 2010 the fire got lite under the university again and folks were buzzing about watching the teams play. But now it’s turned into from the people I know , “Cal has had all this talent and really nothing to show for but one national title.” And is 100% fair and I’ve heard those same folks tell me they don’t keep up with it as much cause they can’t keep up with who’s on our team from year to year. You got no guy you wanna buy a shirt for because he’s gone the year after and you can’t follow his career at Kentucky anymore.
