This is because your Coach was a successful coach way before she ever had a daughter on her squad! I'm talking about Mommy Coaches who engineer things so their daughter can cheer even if she doesn't have the ability of the rest of the squad. I'm talking about Coaches who say we're just gonna cheer to have fun... when everyone else has busted their tails to have the gymnastics and ability to compete. (it's like doing the "chicken dance" on a full timeout @ the District Tournament, whenever you should be on the floor cheering for your team and leading the crowd to support them!)That's a waste of money and a waste of (4) years that should be full of wonderful events and memories. It's ok for a little while to "veg" and have some fun, but even teenagers get tired of knowing their potential and by the time they're juniors or seniors, understanding why it has to be wasted. It's sad and embarassing for eveyone involved. The girls all end up feeling badly about everything, when they should be able to have positive things to discuss and remember.
