I think the errors cost JC just a tad more, seeing that all 4 AC runs were scored off 4 JC errors.Smile

Turner did pitch well, as did Little, and he could indeed be a very good pitcher given proper mechanical instruction.

Anyways nice game AC, and good luck the rest of the season. Some nice folks down there. Your right, it was a fun game to watch.

AC hit the ball pretty good quite a few times that were right at JC Defenders. Just because they don't fall for a hit doesn't mean it wasn't hit well. Blanton also did a good job keeping many batters off stride. One of the .500 hitters was on the bench. The others have been hitting well all season, even against good competition -- including Leslie County.

The errors on both sides cost them a great deal, but the biggest was probably the pass ball on the strike 3 by AC's backup catcher. That would have been the end of the inning. Instead, the next guy comes up and hits a 3 run shot. How is any errors bigger than that one? That HR is a one run homer instead of a 3 run shot if hit in the next inning. The pitcher also doesn't have to throw fastballs right down the middle with no runners on, so there is an even greater possibility the HR would not have been hit and therefore erasing 3 runs. Each JC error only amounted to one run each -- and even then it took good, and risky baserunning on AC's part just to get those runs in.

And, by the way, AC has played much more competition outside of the 58th including JJ Kelly, Ironton, Leslie County, Paintsville twice, Letcher Central, Cumberland, Lawrence County, Wolfe County and many other tough teams still exist on their schedule to be played. And the funny thing is these players are still hitting about .400 or better and putting up runs even against all these teams.

Turner and Little did pitch well. Both have good mechanics and could use just a little tweaking, but so could the pitcher from JC -- who pitched a very good game.

Thanks for the comments about some nice people this way. It is always a pleasure to come to JC and play with the hospitality there -- the only exception being a Sun Delay; but that's just part of the game there.
