IMO one of these 5 teams will win the region.


1. Hazard - I think they have earned the right to be favorite going into the post season. Have played and beat all the top teams in the region. Only loss in region was in OT to PCC. Have played tough non region schedule. Have 9 wins over teams with a winning record.
2. PCC - IMO they have improved more than any team in the region from start of season until now. Reed presents a match up problem for most in the region. Added Beverly to team. Have played tough non region schedule. Only team in region to beat Hazard. Has 5 wins over teams with a winning record.
3. KCC - Home court advantage for region. When at full strength capable of winning three games in a row at home. Has 5 wins over teams with a winning record.
4. Estill - Have POY Benton and excellent coach in Bentley. Have improved as the year went on. If they can dictate pace of play, will keep games close and have a chance to win region. Has 3 wins over teams with a winning record.
5. Wolfe - Young team. Play a fast pace and willing to give up 2s on defense to make 3s on offense. Can win if they are hitting their shots. Have 2 wins over teams with a winning record.

Cordia Buckhorn and Breathitt all have talent. All good enough to beat anyone in region but not sure they can win 3 games in the region.

Leslie gets home court advantage in district vs Hazard. I don't think that is enough to pull upset.

Owsley/Powell winner will be in the region but have no chance of winning.
