These out of state opponents have a 26-8 combined record. However, per KHSAA the win percentage is set at .500 instead of .765 for these opponents.

That is a maddening aspect of this and one that can easily be avoided with Maxpreps.

Ashland plays four solid out of State teams and may go 2-2. Had they played 0-10 West Virginia School for the Blind, 0-10 Ohio Performing Arts High School, 0-10 Hellen Keller Tech, and 0-10 The Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and went 4-0 they would have gotten a ton more points.

I get that the Opponents' Opponents Win percentage is tricky and should be counted at .500, but there is absolutely no reason that a school shouldn't have their overally record accounted for if they are out of state.


Teams like Trinity, CovCath, Belfry, JC, Ashlands etc that schedule strong out of State Teams are getting hosed when they are trying to play tough competition.
