[More Cowbell]

Just like everyone expected, this ended up being the best game of the entire Pike Co. Bowl. A defensive struggle where the final outcome was still in doubt up until the last couple minutes.

The first half was where all the scoring took place. But with both teams using a slow, grind-it-out running offense, each team only had the ball 3 times. Pike Central scored once and turned it over on downs twice, while Valley scored twice and punted once.

The second half saw several long, time-consuming drives, but none resulted in points. Valley appeared to have tacked on another touchdown late in the 3rd, but a holding call nullified the score, and SV would end up turning it over on downs deep in Hawk territory. SV would also come close to scoring again in the 4th, but underthrew an open receiver in the end zone. They then threw an INT immediately after, giving PC one last chance. However, with the clock under 2 minutes, the Hawks threw an INT too, and that was that.

Lots of stuff for both teams to work on. SV goes on the road to Ridgeview for what will probably be their toughest test of the regular season. PC gets 2 weeks to prepare for Perry Central.
