^^ I let this slide for a while. Don't lump the poor and the middleclass together. It is the poor who live off the middleclass. And it is the middleclass who're being taxed into oblivion to provide those welfare benefits for the so-called poor. Many of whom don't work by choice.

Many of the middleclass say because of the enormity of the financial burden already imposed upon them by the ACA, they often choose not to go to the doctor themselves because they can no longer afford to pay the copays and insured coverage shortfalls. But I'd make a deal. If the authorities would positively verify that those receiving welfare benefits and ObamaCare really do require them to survive, I'd be okay with it. Somehow the idea of my buying beer and cigarettes and who knows what else for folks who'd just rather not work, strikes me the wrong way.

You forgot to mention lottery tickets- beer, cigarettes, and lottery tickets. To the professional non-working, able bodied "poor," those are all necessities.

I cringe when I watch people checking out using their "free" food card and then shelling out cash for lottery tickets and luxury items for which taxpayers are not yet on the hook.
