Obviously I don't know exactly what happened, but doesn't it read as though the player stripped down to his underwear on his own volition?

From the article:

"I do not have to tell you anything, I don't have to answer to nobody, you see that woman [pointing to a woman sitting in the stands] that is my wife, I do not have to tell her anything. You know what! Take my [EXPLETIVE] off, call you parents, and tell them to come and get you and take your [EXPLETIVE] home."

At that point, the lawsuit says the student "did what he was told and took off the equipment," leaving him with only his undershirt and his underwear.
