49-6 Belfry will make quick work of the Jags. I think we will see Mounts return from his injury this week in very limited action. I have one question with Mounts’ return, does he sure up a hole at MLB or does he return to OLB? The few times he played MLB before the injury I thought our run stop D looked solid, but he’s good at OLB as well. I also think Barker did a better job at OLB than he did at MLB in the Pikeville game as well. Barker has flashes of grearness at times especially in the Pikeville game when he would make a great read and make a hit behind the LOS but not wrap up and finish the play. Barker also would read wrong and take himself out of the play the very next play. I think Barker is better on the edge with his size and speed and his abilitiy to cover the pass. Mounts is just a tough hard nose kid who could compliment Fields better in the middle. Fields is drawing a lot of the double teams this year that Wellman drew last year. Fields really hasn’t done much to stand out this year but he has been solid. I still think our best defense is Fields and Mounts in the middle, Cook and Barker on the edge. In the middle we look our best with Rash at NG and Baisden and Goff at DTs. Goff gives up a little bit of size but he is quick and disciplined. Coleman and Browning at Safteys and Dixon and Birchfield at CBs. Hopefully we get to see this line up a little bit more down the stretch in the CM and JC game. If we get get that unit clicking we will be very hard out for any team. Our offense is solid and just needs to figure out how the combination of Hensley and Coleman will play out going forward. Hensley gives us the quick burst up the gut while Coleman is more of a bruiser back. We are getting back to being 100% healthy, and if we can stay healthy and tweak our D in spots we will be just fine! Definitely not looking forward or past any oppents, just wishful thinking.

Appreciate the post.....but quite honestly....NO Defensive Line Combination has looked good for the Pirates. That’s not a knock on the kids. They’re all doing the best they can. Goff, Washington and Baisden have all had their moments. However.....simply put.....We are too small. Baisden is the only one with any size....and teams are taking advantage it. Would love to see Lawson get into the mix.
