One thing I’ve always disliked is that you can be a district runner-up, but there often seems to be no disadvantage to that. I’ve always felt that the district winner should get to host the first round of the region against a runner up, then the final four could go to one site. I think the Louisville regions do this, and I think the 16th did at one time. I know it will never happen because of money, for example I doubt if the folks in charge at the Arena here in the 13th would be receptive to losing two nights each of boys and girls games. But it would sure add a little juice and more meaning to district championship games.
