What?
I mean that we can class sports by size because we have enough schools to form a class. If we separated publics and privates there would not be anywhere close to enough privates to form their own class and the size discrepancy in classed sports would be massive.
Under the new alignment for football for example, there are 2 6A schools, 1 5A school, 1 4A school, 2 3A schools, 3 2A schools, and 5 1A schools. More than half of a 'private class' would be below 250 total male enrollment.
Would it somehow be more fair to expect tiny Holy Cross to compete with Trinity than Scott County or Male?
