Ladies & Gentlemen of the jury, I present evidence to support my claim that certain sports need to be split in to Public/Private competition. This is not an attempt to say every kid gets a trophy mentality, rather this list is to show just how uneven the playing field has been since 2000. When we have a sport that has never had a public school team state champion in it's 38 year history, something needs to change... and that change is not telling the public schools to get better either. When one school has won every single team state championship in that certain sport for 31 straight years, something needs to change.


Volleyball
No public schools has EVER won the volleyball state championship since the sport was adopted in 1979.

Golf
Boys: 12 of the past 18 years have been won by a Private school.
Girls: 7 of the past 18 years have been won by a Private school. Girls Golf has the most spread out wins between Public/Private than any other sport I have listed on here.

Soccer
Boys: 18 of the possible 43 state titles have been won by Private schools & 11 of the past 18 years
Girls: 10 of the possible 26 state titles have been won by Private schools & 10 of the last 18 years.

Swimming & Diving
Boys: St. Xavier has won every team state title from 1987 through present.
Girls: 43 of the possible 72 team state titles have been won by a Private school & 12 of the last 18.

Tennis
Boys: 32 of the possible 37 team state titles have been won by a Private school.
Girls: 20 of the possible 37 team state titles have been won by a Private school.
