Divine Right of Kings? Presidential Popery?

Divine right of kings? Horrid misuse of religion? “Lighten up, Francis.”

Still better than that horrid surge of spittle. I'd bet instead of ties for Father's Day, you get bibs. Have them give this a try... https://www.bedbathhome.com/AdultProtect...6c1c3d8dbc

You my friend are the Devine right of the 'clinical.' And I don't expect that a guy chocked full of little else than DNC talking points, could possibly understand what it means to think for one's self. But here goes anyway.

I am a conservative and a Christian. My views (the ones that count anyway) are based in the eternal. Thus when Jimmy Carter came along, I voted for a, as he said... "Borned again Christian" for President. I got had a little bit with that one BTW.

Then came George W. making the same claim and once again, I found myself to some degree, at odds with my President on Spiritual matters.

Obama, well let's just say though he liked to brag vociferously on his 'bus' driving skills, I just got this nagging hang-up about being lied to on a daily basis by my President. Call me old fashioned.

Now we have DJT. He has a checkered past and an immaculate record as President. He 'says' he respects the sovereignty of the Almighty. Now, where Church leaders are today concerned, let's just say that of those on my preferred short list, several have and do endorse Mr Trump, warts and all. But as I have said, you show me a guy who's recognized his failings and turned from them, and I'll show you a guy I can trust. The Apostle Paul for example, (who wrote much if not most of the New Testament) declares himself to be the chief among sinners. God chose him, a man who'd committed many acts (inference intended) of offense against the Church, to do a mighty work among men. And for the record, that work was important because getting the Truth out, which was Christ, and His valid claim was at that time and this, paramount.
John 14:6 (KJV)
v6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

At any rate, the views of President Trump match my own long held beliefs. If he veers into unacceptable political air space I will be every bit as critical of him as I have with the likes of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. The record on this forum is clear on that. I don't excuse his failings, nor do I have any right to judge him for same. But you go ahead.
