Divine Right of Kings? Presidential Popery?

The power of the Executive Branch of our federal government is balanced by the power of the Senate to remove the President from power. I am skeptical that the Supreme Court would ever rule that a president has the power to pardon himself, but any president who pardoned himself would most likely be impeached, convicted, and removed from office before the SC had time to rule on the matter - so it is a moot point. However, the Constitution does not limit a president's power to grant pardons, so the question of a self-pardon is far from settled law.

Nothing that Trump or Giuliani have said could be accurately characterized as a belief that President Trump believes that any president is above the law. Of course, accuracy is not your forte.

Excuse me for taking the tweeting don at his word, and for taking Rudy Guliani as a butt-kissing embarrassment who just so desperately wants to be Attorney General. My understanding of the Constitution is just fine. It’s the tweeting don who appears confused. Rudy knows better. He just wants to be AG. Or maybe a SC Justice.
