Divine Right of Kings? Presidential Popery?

I remember it well, Bob. I built a small loop antenna last week, including a variable capacitor to allow me to tune it. I am planning to build a much larger one soon. As a hobby, radio presents a lot of challenges when you live in a densely populated area.

With an SDR, a 4 or 5 ft. loop antenna, and a mountaintop, I think I might pick up some European AM stations. I miss the star-filled skies and great radio reception of eastern Kentucky. A decent sized mountain is about an hour and a half away from here.

I let my Technician ham license expire a couple of years ago, but I plan on getting my General or Extra class license this summer. The FCC dropped the Morse code test back in 2007.

I bought a cheap dual band handheld transceiver a couple of weeks ago, but I wish that I lived where I could have an antenna farm. 😀
