2000 & 2001 it was considered Semi-State. Paintsville lost to Boyd County both years in Semi State 4 hosted at Corbin and Knott Central. The state tournament was a Final Four format from 1976 until 2003 when it went to 8 teams. Now whether or not the Semi-State was included in the “State Tournament” I’m not sure. I would assume no as those games weren’t played at the site of the Final Four games. But again I’m not sure.

Go to the riherds scoreboard and click on the 2000 State baseball tournament. There is a bracket labeled “2000 State Baseball Tournament” it is a 16 team bracket.....Paintsville is one of those 16.
