Paintsville's first regional title since 2001.
Paintsville's first state tournament appearance since 1990. Before you say I'm wrong, Paintsville did play in the Sectionals vs. Boyd County in 2001, but that was not the actual state tournament. Only eight teams from across the state made it to the actual state tournament before the format was changed that all sixteen regions got to compete at the state tournament.



JC made way too many errors early in the game and Paintsville was able to capitalize and gets some runs.

Back then I believe only 4 teams made it to the state site. The sectional was a 4 team tournament. But I find it silly to say that JC has been to back to back state tournaments and Paintsville hasn’t been since 1990 just because they changed the format.
