Know it's kind of tangential, but going back a little with this one, I always thought Rowe at Shelby Valley did a really good job and was integral in laying the foundation for the program's later success. Don't know exactly how long he was at Shelby Valley (online records only go back to 1998), but he had a run from the 1999/2000 season to the 2003/2004 season where they were one of the heavy favorites to win region each year and were able to get to Rupp a couple of times.

Always thought his 2003 team was one of the better coaching jobs for getting as much as he could out of what he had. They hung around with eventual runner-up Ballard well enough early, and could have beaten a handful of other teams in that tournament, which had a strong field overall.
