Several reason why parents would rather pay for tuition. Not sure if you're familiar with FCPS system, but it's really not that great. Believe me if Fayette county parents lived at other county schools i.e.Scoot Co, Woodford Co, Jessamine Co, or other surrounding counties, they will send their kids there. Hard to justify good quality education when a class of 30-40 kids per teacher and kids are sitting on the floor or standing up. Yes even with the addition of FDHS. FCPS is over crowded.

2.The headaches, the mis-fits, the defiant, lack of consistency with regulating school policy by administrations.. parents would rather pay tuition.

3. They FCPS frowns upon any religious groups, activities, clubs, prayer groups etc etc.
So why not if you can afford it. And who's to say some LCA or Lex Cath families don't receive tuition assistance? Not all parents are politicians, doctors, lawyers, thoroughbreds farm owners.
