The positive I see out of this is that it may FINALLY lead to classifcation. Use the 16th region for example. With this it is split evenly. there are 8 teams out of 16 that are All A participants and now 8 teams that are 2A participant eligible.

5 classes with 50+ teams in each state wide would give many more teams and athletes an opportunity to compete for a trip to the state tournament.

Set up districts, do a home/away, 32 teams make a seeded playoff, 5 rounds. Week long state final four in each class at a designated site (rounds 4 & 5). You'd be bringing 20 teams to the dance instead of 16.
