They didn't at all and I never could understand why either? They had literally EVERYBODY back from a 2016 team that took Lou. Central to a TD game that wasn't decided until the last play of the game & at Louisville Central.

Some, but it won't last for long IMO...as in the 2nd half of the regular season will be their time for getting primed to make another run. If you are going to knock them off; you better hope you get them early on.

Their junior and sophomore classes to be can play. They'll be be at their "worst" early on next year more so than at any point over the next 2-3 years...things will only get better for them as they gain experience b/c the talent is DEFINITELY there.

Elizabethtown/Hardin County is just booming in growth; if outsiders are moving to the area with a son(s) and they want them going to 1) a first class academic school 2) one that also has very good ball teams with 3) 1st class facilities to boot? It's a no brainer...not to mention now having a HOF coach running the show.

E-town was ALWAYS- IMO and others- a coach like Brown away from being sleeping giant. The job came open several times over the years which attracted interest from several past and even current HOF coaches, but with their academic standards they were NEVER going to help "lighten the load" for their football coach. So what did they do this last time? Avoid that by hiring a HOF coach who was already in Hardin County that had retired from the education & all that's to do is FOOTBALL 100% of the time.

I don't know if they will be able to kick down the door in 3A or not with just how ridiculously tough that class is, and I hate to even compare anybody to the likes of Bowling Green because what they have been able to accomplish isn't something that just anybody can do....but, when you look at the landscape of E-town & the area; it's awfuuuul similar to that of BG/Warren County.
