I think a lot of football would like all sports to be classified. I think they come out at times like this. However, each sport has its own individuality. In theory football could play 22 athletes, O and D, during a game. We know this isn't always plausable as we slide down each school's enrollment scale. The smaller athlete population the less skilled the players. Wa-la football classification. Basketball 5 players, maybe seven player rotations. Wa-la keep it the way it is until schools want it to change. Majority don't or they would put a proposal to the KHSAA delegate assembly. Seeding for state basketball, how ambiguous would this process be. What system could be used that didn't involve bias, political maneuvering, and down right hate. Why would we subject our children to this quagmire. They put up with enough crap from adults trying to ruin things. I agree with an earlier post that said, the blind draw adds anticipation to the whole atmosphere. Guarantee all those large schools are begging for it. State tournament: 1. When schools districts told students they would be counted absent unexcused if they attended the tournament, killed it. 2. When coaches were told they would be docked and couldn't use sick days or didn't have enough personal days, killed it. When motels skyrocketed, killed it. You know what's funny, the Superintendents have trainings scheduled during the boys state tournament during the mornings. 🤔Or they have in the past. Why can't KY enter the 21st century and schedule trainings during the tournament that are already required such as concussion, medical symposiums, rules clinc, coaches education classes that are required. Other states do this. Then the coaches can attend with some financial help from schools because it is TRAINING TO PROTECT OUR YOUTH. HOW DARE WE!
