I would look for next year to possibly be like 2016. Going into that season E-town was just coming off losing 20 something seniors off a 2015 squad that ended up making it to the semis against LexCath. Things in 2016 kind of started off slow, but soon picked up. E-town isn't running out of talent anytime soon whatsoever. Their current sophomore class were conference champs as 8th graders (league consisting of Central Hardin, North Hardin, John Hardin, Meade, etc feeders- that alone kind of says it all). The current freshman class also won that conference along with Middle School State Champs for their division, and the current 8th grade class was regular season champs (only to get beat by Meade County's lone Middle School- Stuart Pepper MS- 35-40 8th graders).

They aren't going anywhere. I think this year might have been their best bet to win it, though due to 1) the 2015 group (2016 graduating seniors) were damn good, but this group was even better. I think it's clear based off the Boyle County game that E-town was by FAR the 2nd best team in the state & 'shoulda, coulda, woulda' beat Boyle...a game that was scoreless until 8:00 to go in the game & 2) 3A has been ridiculously tough as is the last few years and things didn't get any easier with CAL & DeSales not only moving into the class, but 3A West (Not sure how much geography matters since they are going to be rotating regions and seeding the semis, but nonetheless).
