My take after watching this game is this
#1- Savannah Wheeler is the best player in the region with the best supporting cast being coached by the best coach.
#2-Boyd Co uses multiple screens and motions to get everyone involved.
#3-Pete does a great job of calling sets to take advantage of match ups
#4-Boyd's roll players are better than Ashland's roll players.
#5-Robinson has the ability to score 40 any given night- but it does not always equal success against the good teams.
#6-Ashland's offense has no motion- very few screens- 5 out look and a lot of standing around watching Robinson.
#7-Not sure Ashland is as good defensively as they claim to be- saw a lot of bad attempts to cut off drives/do not know how to defend screen actions/and BC is better at rebounding the ball as a team.
8-BC is tougher/ more physical/plays harder/ never back down- never quit- play through adversity team than Ashland.
#9- BC toughness is a reflection of their coach.
#10-BC is best team in region.

10 points to ponder after round 2 of watching these 2 teams play. I think the development of BC players is a direct reflection of how Coach molds his players and helps them to be successful in his system and it is refreshing to watch kids play their rolls and have fun doing so...I know Ashland didn't play well and Parker had an off night and that happens from time to time- but as a team they looked very confused/lacked toughness/and seemed to let the frustrations carry over into other aspects of their game.
A lot of games left with some good match ups coming up with some good teams- but there will definitely be a round 3 in districts and quite possibly round 4 in regions- always look forward to those games.
