Seeding certainly hasn't hurt the NCAA basketball tournament. Wouldn't it have been horrible if that great UNC-UK game had been in the first round. Too many times the tope 3 or 4 teams in the state have been grouped on one side of the bracket. It would take the "luck" factor out of it.
