Both of the former Lakewood Lancers, sisters Kaitlyn Peacock and Kristin Peacock played well in this one but it wasn't enough to lead Lake Erie to a win. Kaitlyn had a nice game with the glove but went 0-3 at the plate. Kristin drove in two runs and had a hit.
Lake Erie(12-21, 5-12 GLIAC) in watching the game is a team who hits well but lacks depth at the pitching position slot and that is always a sign of trouble and a long season. Allyson Deemer(3-11) Poland, Ohio / Poland Seminary took the loss.
Grand Valley State (24-15, 10-5 GLIAC) Teagan Shomin(Grand Rapids, Mich. / Northview) had a monster game, going 2-4, with a home run and 4 RBI.Jenna Lenza(Orland Hills, Ill. / Victor J. Andrew) went 3-4.
I watched on ESPN3.
