Peggy and her husband Leon were both killed in a auto accident Saturday evening. Coach Moore was a person that was such an amazing athlete when she was a player at Buckhorn. Put many boys to shame to tell the truth. Grew up with a ball in her hands. After high school she went on to EKU and became one of the best to ever play there. Still may hold records there today. Not sure on that. She became a teacher and began coaching basketball, softball, etc. So many kids have been touched by coach Moore. She coached in Breathitt County for countless years. Won Regional Championships as the girls basketball coach and as the softball coach there at Breathitt. She was loved by many many people. You think of girls sports in Breathitt county you think if Peggy Moore. My grand daughter will one day hear stories about Peggy Moore. That's how much influence she had in this community. So much time she dedicated to the sports programs here. Her son is the head football coach here at Breathitt. Peggy was something else. She cared about the kids in the community. She was an assistant boys basketball coach for the last 4 or 5 seasons.
