I say you are filled with the misconceptions of the revisionist left. You will notice that I am usually careful to preface my use of the term conservative with the word 'traditionally.' The conservatives of today are a hollow and powerless lot by comparison to the traditionally conservative statesmen of America's illustrious past. But just because they have become feckless and neutered by their continual compromises with the left, does not mean that I am anywhere near ready to concede defeat. I refuse the embrace the leper, liberalism, especially when I know the cure is just a matter of spiritual awakening and repentance.

Past that I prefer to temper my criticisms of the candidate in question with a healthy deference to pragmatism. You say you're a Baptist. If that's the case I won't need to elaborate by way of lengthy explanation of that which I am about to say. We just elected a President. He does not therefore, need to meet the same set of character regimen that a pulpit committee may be seeking in a potential new pastor. He just has to be a good leader who loves this nation, accepts the providence of God in the general sense if not personally, respects the laws of the land and will defend the people with his entire being. If Trump does that, religious liberty and all other forms of liberty are in no further danger.

I would argue that there has never been any issue with religious liberty other than a few that have tried to force religion down everyone's throats. For an example, did you know when we added "Under God" into the pledge? As a Baptist, I do know that my denomination has done an about face within the last 40 yrs. We have always kept to ourselves on political issues, then the Southern Baptist got taken over by a few zealots, hence why the cooperative Baptist movement has become so big. A lot of folks pick and choose which verses to follow in the Southern Baptists, which makes me sick to be quite frank. When confronted, again, God, Guns, and Gays. Press Repeat.
