I respect the answer. The devil is in the details. The United States is not Old Testament Israel, so my beliefs on social issues often conflict with true conservatives as defined here. Not in the sense that I disagree on the actual behavior, but in that essential liberty is vital to our form of government, and the choices of those with whom we disagree are protected by the same principles of liberty that shelter our own.
