This blows me away. Great job by the Bailey kid. Sounds like he pitched a great game. However, how in the world are these guys already ready to be throwing complete games? ITS STILL MARCH!!! It is even more baffling considering the score. There was absolutely no reason for this kid to throw that much in this game. Sounds like it would have been a great game to get everyone some work on the hill. If a 14-17 year old kid is throwing more than 50-60 pitches in March then something is really wrong. It's not just one team though. It seems to be happening a lot in the eastern part of the state. I have seen about 10 games so far this year in the Lexington area, and I haven't seen a team throw less than 3-pitchers in any of those games, regardless of what the score was. I just don't understand the necessity of throwing a kid that much that early.

Stop it. Oh please, STOP IT! Do you know how many pitches he even threw? If he was under 100 pitches, no big deal. Unlike some programs, LC starts their pitchers throwing a program in the winter to have them conditioned for spring. And they follow a specifically designed pitch count depending on the pitcher, his arm makeup, build, etc. They throw simulated games to hitters in the winter in the cages to build up their stamina. My kid went through this program, so I know.

LC is also resting guys early on that will throw later because they haven't built up enough arm stamina or strength. This kid went through that last year. This year he's bigger and stronger and has responded. He's a senior, not some 14-17 year old kid. Have you seen this kid? He's built pretty solid.

As for the score, it is only surprising that it happened in the 16th region. Usually they don't like it when a 15th region team comes up there and usually will not allow for it to get that bad. And when I say "they", I'm not talking about the other team......if you know what I mean. :Thumbs:
