You're probably right. But such is the way when men put their own careers ahead of the common good. We need to do an awful lot of things differently, and we need to do them ASAP. I don't think Rubio would be a viable VP pick. I know he has been anointed by the king makers, but he's too green and it showed during the campaign. But that's not the reason he'd turn it down. He'd do that because despite all the patriotic rhetoric, he want's the top spot right now (like the establishment led him to believe he was going to get) and he's having a pity party. Kasich would, but a lack of personal integrity notwithstanding, he'd hold out till doomsday if he thought he had a usurping chance to come into the Oval Office sideways.

We can blame anybody imaginable for what is happening in this primary. But the blame lies with a bunch of narrow and pompous egotists and ideologue extremists, who think theirs' is to rule people. The walls are pressing in on folks and they're not going to allow smoke blowing and the coddling of special interests, which they have to pay for BTW, to pass for governance any longer. Not to mention our seriously eroded stature among the nations. Thus the people through their ballots have rejected them, and their response has been to go around the people with yet another backroom deal.

You know I've been saying that the voter has tremendous power, given to him in the form of the right to vote and select our leaders. If that process is stymied by some illegitimate last minute rules change or some other shenanigan, the Republican Party is toast. Finally, at long last they have an opportunity to realize the Big Tent agenda. And what are they doing with that opportunity other than rejecting it out of hand? According to bozos like Erick Erickson, a consensus party candidate should be 'selected.'

They need to take a really long look at how Obama has been acting in the last couple of days. Mocking and berating Republicans as idiots, while taking a bow for what he calls a 4.9 unemployment rate and a "buck eighty" gasoline. I mean, can you believe that guy? I can still remember clearly, the pain of putting over a hundred dollars worth of gas into my tank, it doesn't quite seem like the threat is gone forever to me. The only reason gas is anywhere near affordable is because of fracking. And his own EPA has already put the practice under great duress with the promise to totally outlaw fracking very soon. We will yet bleed out the ears for what is yet to come from this administration, and the Republicans are acting like total morons and selling out the very ones who swept them into office. :HitWall:

A Trump running mate needs to be willing and able to lie with a straight face because he or she will constantly be asked to comment on what Trump has just said. Hillary would be perfect for the position, but she already has a gig.

Seriously, a VP candidate should share most of the top candidate's vision and principles. Hillary and the media would use Cruz's conservatism to create problems for both Trump and Cruz. Cruz is not going to toss out his principles to be the VP in the administration of a populist or a liberal, nor should he. Trump needs a more malleable VP like Christie or Kasich.
