State of the Union
#14
^ I'm with you man. Haley really hurt herself yesterday. Actually, I have some more additional information on it to get our blood boiling more...

First off, the Spanish version of Nikki Haley's response had some changed words to imply even moreso that the GOP supported amnesty for illegals. The party (at least, the establishment) has given into this whole thing about political correctness and doesn't want to offend people.

Second, something I overlooked at the end, is that Nikki Haley implied that the GOP would "respect the differences in modern families." AKA, the party gives up fighting for traditional marriage. It's not a lost cause. It certainly hasn't been a lost cause in Spain where support for traditional marriage is lower, where not too long ago hundreds of thousands of people marched for traditional marriage and legislation was brought up to fight it (Spain redefined marriage in 2005) in the so-called most LGBT friendly country in the world.

As Demarcus Ware mentioned, right now 20% of Democrats are willing to vote for Trump. I was shocked yesterday when a close friend of mine (more like a Jim Webb type Democrat) expressed interest in voting for Trump should he win this nomination. He's tired of this country going the direction it is with political correctness and the like and agrees that our society is going down the tubes fast. He is watching Trump to see how he tears into some of the establishment GOP candidates like Haley, of whom (like us) he cannot stand.

I'm still a little questionable on Trump. I do like the fact that he has taken such a strong stance on immigration, he has been tough on the media and the establishment's worst nightmare. The reason Cruz is my top choice right now, I am just hesitant on Trump's position on social issues such as abortion or gay "rights." Cruz has been consistent on those issues, Trump usually has tried to shove them to the back of the line when interviewed about them. I do believe he is pro-life as he says. I watched the interview with him back in 1999 when he was pro-choice and he heavily condemned abortion even then. I just don't think it's a big priority for him. If he does win the nomination though, he will have no trouble getting my vote. Anything is better than what we have now and anything is better than Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders.

At the end of the day, I just can't figure it out with the establishment. The Republicans win by being Republicans. By being conservatives. Not by trying to cater to Democrats. So many Republican candidates have tried that since Reagan and have lost elections because they try to be moderates instead of conservatives. If they grew a backbone then
