State of the Union

Like you, i have always avoided these, but i just watched to count the lies Confusednicker: First he takes shots at Cruz and Trump, then turns right around and admits he didn't bring the parties together to work on issues like he should have. Mitch Mcconnell looked like a kid in a toy store smiling standing cheering Obama on. As i've said, i usually don't watch, but in the past when i did watch a few, i've never seen the opposing party stand and cheer the way these Republicans did last night. Nikki Haley said this morning that Ryan and Mcconnell approved her response before giving it, the establishment is worried right now about Trump and Cruz, and it's painfully obvious.

There are several GOP establishment types that I have had enough of, my hope is that given the right leadership, Ryan and McConnell will find their souls again and act like conservatives. The media are in it up to their eyeballs too, as is FOX News digital politics editor Chris Stirewalt. The guy has been relentless in his attacks against Trump since the first debate because Trump slammed Megyn Kelly. In doing so, FOX News is actively engaging in campaigning, and whether for or against any particular candidate, that behavior (creating news outside of the facts) is wrong in my view. There are many more like Stirewalt on all the TV channels campaigning against Trump. Suffice it to say, what a relief it will be when the actual voting gets started. One thing is certain, the voter is more engaged this election cycle than any would have imagined. Self governance may not be completely dead after all.

According to Lou Dobbs this evening, Trump has ignited the Republican base in a manner not seen since the days of Ronald Reagan. And the similarities are eerily similar. Just as in Reagan's case, the establishment hates Trump and have tried their best to turn the voter against him. The media are no better with their constant make believe scenarios which feature all kinds of make believe pit falls in a prospective Trump Presidency. Further, he has succeeded in uniting support and the Republican base in a manner that has exceeded the RNC's wildest hopes, and the bozos are still blasting away at him just as predicted.

Dobbs and precious few others such as Hannity and Stewart Varney have been trying to point out the obvious truth here, and they have done so as pointedly as possible where it applies to folks such as Nikki Haley. She might want to consider that Trump is leading among voters in her own state by a wide margin the next time she feels the urge to slam Mr Trump. Those are Republican voters we're talking about, a fact that has seemingly escaped her. When she slams Trump, she's slamming a very large segment of her own constituency.
