Everyone keeps bringing up this recovery on the muffed punt. I can't believe no one has mentioned the fact kennemore would have most likely recovered it at the 1 if the ncc player didn't hold him. Mayfield then most likely would have punched it in for 7 anyways.

6-3-1-a it is a touchback of any free kick or scrimmage kick: which is not a scoring attempt or which is a grounded three-point field goal attempt, breaks the plane of R's goal line, unless R chooses a spot of first touching by K.

"Possession" is the key word.....The NewCath player NEVER had possession, thus when the ball entered the endzone it is a deadball, NewCath's ball at the 20.

The touching/or not touching of the kick has no relevance. Once a kick (any kick) crosses the goal line, it's dead and a touchback.
