Fly Like a Duck Wrote:By your 2nd paragraph, I take it you know nothing about North Hardin HS, their dynasty of a Track Team and many of which (sprinters) that play for them.

Paducah Tilghman does not have more speed that North Hardin. Fast? Just as much? I'd say yes. More? No.

Bardstown wasn't, nor are they ever lacking in the speed department.

Glasgow the same.

As far as being able to tackle in the open field, I hate to break it to you, but being able to do that or not goes way beyond seeing it a couple times a year. Those traits are majority God given.

You'll have to pardon me, as you can see, regurgitating what's popular and what sounds good isn't exactly how I roll on certain topics.

You have misunderstood my main point and if so the fault might be mine for not making it clearly enough.

I was not specifically referring to Etown and their schedule in my comments, I was speaking generally in response to your bizarre claim that the difficulty of a team's regular season schedule "doesn't make your players better"

Let me try to restate my point. A football team can only improve so much by playing inferior teams thru out the season. The improvement is more dramatic earlier in the year, but as the season wears on there will be a diminishing return.

Alternatively, take the team that plays a tougher schedule during the regular season. They play quality opponents who are as good or even a little better than themselves. They are tested in the process, they learn from their mistakes, and they get better. This is so basic and incontrovertible that I cant believe I am having to type it.

I would much rather be the coach of a team going into the playoffs that was well tested during the season than to be the coach of a team that piled up a bunch of wins beating up on inferior teams.

You can accuse me of regurgitating what is popular if you like, but some times things are popular because they are true.

P.S. oh and not that it matters, but you seem to be unaware that PT has 29 Track State Championships which I would guess is a few more than North Hardin, Glasgow and Bardstown combined, no?
