Well, I will be the first female to react that is around the age of the students. I am a 18 year old high school senior so here is my view on it. Stuff like this happens daily. I mean not just around here but in all parts of the world. Students develop crushes on their teachers, they is just something to draws people to them. They are older, smarter, some are good looking, and you are around them 5 days a week so crushes can develop. Is it right? No, but it does happen. No teacher should react upon a student flirting. A teacher and I were talking the other day about how we could see how a teacher could like a student, it is someone that you are around at least an hour every day 5 days a week BUT even if a teacher does develop feelings for a student they should in no way be acted upon. Now, when a student gets out of high school and something happens with a previous teacher, then there is nothing that the school board, parents, or state can really do about it. I am 18 myself and I don't even claim that my parents have no control over some of my decisions. As long as I am living at home they can control alot of things. Back on topic, kids are having sex at very young ages now. I can proudly say that I was not one of them. It actually sickens me to know what people do now. I grew up in the generation that girls lost their virginity in 7th grade or so and boys too. It is hard to explain but I always considered myself in a more mature mindset than that on my peers. They were always "in love" with a new person every week and I was NEVER like that. Call me a liar if you want but I never sat around and doodled my name and theirs and I love so and so and Lindsay loves blah blah blah, that wasn't who I was. I understood that I was not old enough to know what that kind of love is. Kids are easily influenced and even though 17 isn't as young as say 12, poor judgement and bad decisions are made. Hell, I was there VERY recently, I've done things that I regret and would do some stuff over given the chance but never would I allow myself to let something like this situation happen. I have a better understanding of morale and self respect than this...
