Not really. If you can't throw a lick a good defensive coach will take his chances with the pass. If the other team has a qb that cannot complete a good percentage of his passes people will continue to load the box reguardless of if you throw it or not. When I say load the box I mean 7 man fronts vs the spread or 8 or 9 man fronts against a full house backfield. If your qb stinks then what good does it do to throw 10 more passes a game to complete 3 of them. Essentially that's 7 more negative plays a game for the offense where they gained nothing. I saw Harlan's qb this year. He wasn't going to make big plays with his arm. He was not accurate. If Harlan had a good qb then Larkey would use him like he did at Rockcastle when he had Parson's and Anderkin. They threw the ball plenty back then. Its really an easy argument for you backseat coaches to have. You just pick what the coach is not doing and dwell on that. If you was throwing the ball every play you would be complaining about running it.
