Brooks took UK to its ceiling. Six, seven wins tops, the occasional upset and a minor bowl game. Facilities isn't the problem. To date......10 SEC teams have recruited better than UK. And UK has a good class. It would be eleven but Florida is lagging way behind. I pulled up Catspause on the day of the UK/U of L game and what's on the front page....basketball? One of the biggest football games on the schedule and they are talking basketball. Stoops has a lot to overcome. I think he is doing a good job of getting talent. And look what he is up against in the SEC. There is not a single team right now ranked in the top 25 in basketball right now other than UK. Football is king. I would think Florida will get back there but the SEC should be better. Right now....they are still in football mode. Things got to change in BBN.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but here is a fact. In this country and every state and city you have more football fans then any other sport. I would say you have a lot of people who follow UK basketball because they win and it's exciting. People have just been burnt out by bad football teams at UK for years and years. If UK starts to win in football then people will be just as excited for that as they are for basketball. I promise you that we have more football fans then basketball fans or people who like football just a little better then basketball in Kentucky just like anywhere else, but they just haven't had anything to get excited about in years with this football team. Just take a look at the attendance for highschool football games compared to basketball in Kentucky. I just hope people give Stoops the time to get things right because he inherited a mess of a team with a Conference USA roster trying to play in the SEC and we had a few that I don't think could even cut it in Conference USA. It's not some magic SEC football dust that gets sprinkled on teams like Alabama or Auburn that makes em good every year, it's coaching and talent. I think we have the coach and he is tweaking his staff and he is working on the talent which is better then Kentucky has had in a long time IMO.
