The problem isn't the number of Classes... but moreso the First Round playoff games typically between the 1 vs. 4 seeds. The State Champs probably would have been the exact same except Belfry finishes as a Runner-Up to DeSales in 2A and Pulaski doesn't make it past the Semi-Finals against Highlands in 3A.

I still say only let the top two teams per District get in and shorten the playoffs by a Week.

It's obvious from this weekend a good brand of football is being played in the Finals, but the criticisms continue to be about the First Round blowouts, the 0-10 and 1-9 team getting in, and weather concerns from playing in December.

With two teams per District the regular season (and for that matter non-district scheduling) means even more with the threat of a 3-way tie, you get more competitive First Round Games, and the Finals fall on the weekend after Thanksgiving.

I think this will substantially improve attendance, especially for the Friday games, since most people will have the day off. You also have more people "home for the holiday" who would be more apt to attend.

When was the last time a 3 seed or 4 seed even competed for a State Title, let alone won it?
