There may have been other things during the game where he may have made coaching mistakes, I don't know, but that play was a good call and if it would've been executed properly they'd have had a touchdown out of it. It's easy to sit and criticize a coach's decision when you base it off one play and nothing else. That only shows little knowledge on what goes on during a football game and the rediculous amounts of split-second decisions a coach makes throughout the course of a game. Coaches make good calls and bad calls in every game, and depending on how well his players are prepared for anything determines what the results of those decisions are. I've always wondered how a coach with a gigantic ego will ever succeed with the amount of scrutiny that comes over every decision. One thing is for sure, a coach will never get enough praise for what goes right, but they will get everything and more when things go wrong. For the kid's sake that's how it should be. Unfortunately, that's why there is such a turnover rate in coaching these days. With social media and giving more outlets for people to question coach's decisions, it causes a lot of them to hang it up. It is definitely NOT for everyone. Takes a special breed

All true... But I believe the best coaches are confident enough in their knowledge they don't pay much attention to us armchair QBs anyway.
