North's lack of previous playoff success does bother me, but you know who it doesn't bother? The players. On any team. Teenage boys think they are going to be better than whoever they are against basically every time, even when logic says otherwise. It's us old fogies that worry about things like past history. So I will just go on the teams for this year, and go with North 24-14. Whitley's passing game does cause some concern, because I am sure Woods is better than Jenkins from South, who had some success against the Jags. And North is not really built to be a come-from-behind team, so a couple of early Whitley scores could be a real problem.
But I think this North team is actually more solid as a football team than last year's group, which relied so heavily on big plays from Nelson and grind-it-out from Blair on offense and really not much else. And they have definitely improved defensively, so I'll take the Jags this week.
