Miner Killed In Perry County Roof Collapse
#9
Here's some new information

The number of coal miners killed on the job in the United States this year rose to 20 on Thursday after a rock fall in an underground operation in Kentucky.

A layer of rocks fell on a miner in a TECO Coal mine near Hazard, said Chuck Wolfe, spokesman for the state's Environmental & Public Protection Cabinet.

The company identified the victim as Tim Caudill, 33, of Viper, a roof bolter who has worked for the company since 2001.

In a press release, the company said Caudill was relocating equipment from one location to another when rock and debris fell on him. There were no other injuries, the company said.
