Inter Milan vs Sampdoria

Inter Milan aren’t doing particularly well. Now team is on 8th place, their ambitions are obviously much higher. There is now a big mess in the club. Some people want coach Walter Mazzarri to be sacked, some support him. Money are big problem as Inter would have to pay him 10 mln euro if they decide to terminate contract. Recently Erick Thohir, Inter’s president, spoke about whole situation: “I trust Mazzarri and his work. Last season we wanted to finish on European spots and we did that. We must analyze whole situation. We want to give him another chance, there are many rumours now. Next two games, Wednesday’s clash against Sampdoria and Satursday’s match in Parma will decide about his future.” He also spoke about aims for this season: “We aim for top 4 finish, but it’s not impossible to end season on 3rd spot and qualify to the Champions League.” That’s what he said around 2 days ago. However yesterday Thohir spoke again: “I want to repeat once again that I believe in Mazzarri, this team, whole project, in 100%. Of course results are important, but we won’t be making any decisions based on results of single games. Apparently some of my words were misinterpreted.

Sampdoria are doing fine, team is currently on 4th place. They didn’t suffer from any defeat this season, just like Juventus. Recently there was some controversy as president Massimo Ferrero spoked in bad words about Thohir, however he now tries to deny it: “It was just a joke. Thohir is an intelligent man, I don’t have anything against him. I just wanted to defend Moratti, who’s a great men and he gave a lot to Italian football.”

Cagliari vs AC Milan

The class difference between the sides from the first half of the table and the ones below them is really big and despite that the we saw just eight rounds being gone, this difference is already more than obvious and as it looks like there will be around eight clubs that will be fighting for the top places. And the fact that Cagliari is currently on thirteenth place in the ranks, they are with a whole four defeats after those first eight matches and the fact that despite having lost half of their matches and being able to collect just eight points in those meetings (2-2-4), they are still closer than the middle of the table than in the relegation zone is enough prove of the fact that right now the difference between the top clubs and the rest of the field is more than big and even way playing at home, those sides from the bottom half of the table still should not have much chances.

Milan once again did not spend even a cent for new additions, but in the same time they had managed to get some new players, that are more than good in quality addition, having in mind that they brought them for almost no money at all. And their season so far is more than good, having in mind that for sure they should be fighting for nothing more than a place around the Europa League matches, but so far it looks like the new additions and the new style of play that Indzaghi practice are looking good. After the first eight rounds have been gone, Milan had lost just one single time, having managed to win a whole four times in those meetings and with the fifteen points collected so far in those matches (4-3-1), despite being on sixth place in the ranks.

Fiorentina vs Udinese

The popular violas play on two fronts and have passed a series of seven games without defeat recently, but after they have passed a very bad championship game against Lazio. As part of the Europe League on the other hand they are playing well and with maximum nine points from three games already further in the next round. Now we expect that they will do something concrete at home to Udinese and with the aim to bring the three very important points in Serie A. Juventus vs Genoa

Juventus lead Serie A by 3 points but they really need to sort their away form out if they are to keep Roma at bay. In all competitions,Juventus have now gone 3 away games without a win, and have scored just 1 goal. Hardly good, but it means they should be super focused for this one. Juventus drew 1-1 in their last Serie A away game, at Sassuolo. That came on the back of a 3-2 home win against main rivals Roma, but those games were bookended by 1-0 away losses in the Champions League. Juve were beaten 1-0 at Atletico Madrid and were then shocked by the same score in Greece when Olympiakos grabbed themselves a solitary goal in their match. Still, we must remember that Juventus have conceded just 3 goals in 8 games this season, and have a league high 6 clean sheets. They dropped points at Sassuolo but those were the first and only points dropped in a while. Indeed, Juventus have won 14 of their last 15 league games going back to last season.

Genoa are not an offensive worry for anyone, even at home, failing to score more than 1 goals in their last 8 home games in Serie A. They have not beaten Juventus since 2009, and in fact have suffered more defeats against Juve than any other side and conceded more goals to the side from Turin than against any other. It's 56 defeats and 196 Serie A goals conceded so far. And both those numbers should go up.

AS Roma vs Cesena

Roma will want to get a win in this match after failure in their last match to beat Sampdoria away from home. Roma had a good start in Serie A as well as in the Champions League. However defeat to Juventus in week 6 and then last week's thrashing against Bayern Munich in the Champions League plus a goalless draw against Sampdoria was a series of results they would want to forget. Roma dominated possession and chances but failed to penetrate a stubborn Sampdoria side. Roma will welcome back Kostas Manolas for this match after he served his two match suspension, but they are still without the likes of Federico Balzaretti, Leandro Castan, Douglas Maicon, Seydou Keita and Kevin Strootman who will only be back in November.

Cesena comes into this match without a win in their last game but did gave a good account of themseleves in the defeat against Inter Milan last weekend. Coach Pierpaolo Bisoli was pleased with his side's fighting qualities after losing goalkeeping prodigy Nicola Leali to a red card earlier in the match. Bisoli will be relying on top scorer Alejandro Rodriguez and Guido Marilungo to unlock the tough Roma's defence in this difficult away clash. Cesena will be without Leali through suspension, as well as Riccardo Cazzola, Nico Pulzetti and Andrea Tabanelli through injury.
