Got a friend that had it so bad they sent him to the Cleveland Clinic. They put him on a drug called Uloric that controls the uric acid without the side effects other gout meds has and it helped him a lot. And he cannot eat certain things like shellfish, organ meat or drink alcohol either. It looks terrible, God bless anyone that has to deal with it.
