Almeria started the season with 3 matches without a victory. They got their first victory of the season against Real Sociedad in the last round. Almeria is doing pretty well this season, especially considering the fact that many key players left the club during summer. Whole attacking line changed, best defender, Marco Torsiglieri, is also no longer in Andalusia. In home matches Almeria managed to make two 1:1 draws (against Espanyol and Cordoba), however they deserved all 3 points from match against Espanyol. On the road Fransisco’s men lost to Getafe (but totally undeservingly) and won in a good style this Sunday at Anoeta against Real Sociedad.

Atletico lost many of their best players from last season, for example Curtois GK went back to Chelsea and Diego Costa was bought by Chelsea. They have bought some new quality players but I do not think they will be able to repeat last seasons 2nd place in Champions League and winner of La Liga. Atletico Madrid did well this season in matches against Real Madrid, but against other opponents they won just once (Eibar). On Saturday Atletico dropped two points in a home game against Celta. However, the level of play was not bad, Simeone claimed it was best Atletico’s performance this season.
