I agree that potential is talent unrealized. I know this kids family, we go to church together, and I can guarantee you he is not being blown up by them. I know he is being told and understands how important it is to be on the field, be humble, and what's at stake. I simply believe it's a leg injury that he is trying to play through. Maybe he's pushing it before it's ready. Maybe the blowhards would have preferred he didn't even try. I just don't understand all the negativity about ONE kid on a team. Looks like there are a host of problems on this team to me. We'll get better. And I have watch our trainer tell kids he wasn't going to tape their sprained ankles so they will get stronger? I would think reinforcing them would help. I'm not a trainer, but wow. My staff in high school and college was much more attentive than what we have now. They were so much better at helping kids stay on the field and play or recover. Seems like the answer from them now is ok, sit, see the doctors tomorrow.
