However, 23 Blast isn't a true story, rather "based on a true story" and the Hoovers are quick to point that out. Travis lost his eyesight in 7th grade to Meningitis but I think this film portrays it as something that happened later in his high school career. Travis is a great young man and was truly moved and honored to be the center piece to this story. While the glory and recognition is great, I can guarantee that spreading his faith and inspriation matters to him so much more than a football story. I can't wait to see this again in October.
Having talked to someone who actually played on the team portrayed in the movie there are apparently several significant inaccuracies in the movie. As you said though this will be a great platform for a lot of people to be inspired and empowered.
