BREAKING: Cordia Receives Sanctions Program Suspended
zaga_fan Wrote:If you've received "improper" benefits - you no longer have amateur status and you aren't allowed to participate in NCAA basketball (i.e. Enes Kanter).

What I don't think everyone understands... is that most of this investigation was made possible by former players and people close to the program that signed written affidavits as to what happened.

I'm sure there was some type of immunity granted to the players that signed off on these, but the allegations (for the most part) are not against the kids on the current roster.

I would think that what has been alleged in the KHSAA news release really isn't even half of what has actually happened.

What Kanter received was money from a professional team he played for and the NCAA said it was more that what's acceptable. According to the NCAA Ameteurism Rules, players cannot receive more money "above actual and necessary expenses". Kanter's was of course way above.

This situation is the possibility of a high school player receiving money from the school and/or boosters, etc. that wanted him to transfer to. I would think Cunningham is ineligible if this were found to be true.

I'm like you Zaga, what's been said is just a broad overview and there's more to come, yet the courts will keep things mum for the moment.
