I heard the same thing and asked a few people. Not sure if its true but I heard Hicks traded favors to his wifes principle. She gets favors and better treatment and he brings in Alvin and Bartley. Parents wanted them off Valley middle bench but Valley High will be theirs in a few years.

Not true, first of all Jim Hicks has "principles" that would not want to get preferential treatment for his wife, and second, his wife is an excellent teacher that would not need any favors from her "principal" to do a good job. Coach Hicks is a Christian man that does what is best for the kids at this school.
